Air conditioning is a complete system that keeps you cool and comfortable. The system works like that of a system existing in a refrigerator. Like in a refrigerator, a car air conditioning has a compressor that pumps liquid refrigerant (freon) through the evaporator located under the dashboard. The evaporator is the one responsible in turning the liquid refrigerant into a vapor as it absorbs heat from the passenger compartment. Then, the hot vapor is spread to the condenser, where it turns back into a liquid as it releases heat through the front grille. The car air condition process is continual, therefore, the refrigerant is constantly transforming to and fro into liquid and vapor. In this way, drivers and passengers enjoys a cooler environment inside their vehicles, by taking the heat away the interiors.
Fundamentals of Air conditioning
Your air conditioning units is made up of four major parts, that gives cooling for passenger compartment. The industry has 2 different system design. The designs are termed expansion valve or orifice tube type. The pump that spreads the refrigerant through the system, transferring the heat from passenger compartment to the outside air is the compressor mounted on the engine. The compressor is the most essential and expensive component of the air conditioning system. The condenser carry the heat to the outside air from the passenger compartment. The condenser is located in front of the radiator, just behind the front grille of the vehicle. The evaporator that transfers the heat from the passenger compartment to the refrigerant to the condenser, which removes the heat, cools the passenger compartment is located near the dash board or firewall. Absorbing any excess moisture from the refrigerant is called the dryer. Transferring the refrigerant both to and from the engine-mounted compressor and to the other system parts that are mounted on the vehicle body are the flexible hoses. Refrigerants leakage can be caused by the flexible hoses. Frequent check for leaks should be done in the system which has many connections that requires rubber seals.
How to repair your air conditioning system
It is essential for you to clearly communicate your complaints as well as informing your Rapide technician if anyone else has recently worked on the system, before having your air conditioning repaired. Then, the Rapide technician will go through your system as follows. 1st- The Rapide technician will turn the engine on and inspect the blower and vent operation. To determine the temperature of air through the present vents, the unit will be set to maximum with the fan on high, provided that all controls are working properly. The technician test includes, checking of the belt and hoses condition, screwing service port caps properly in place, and cleaning oil stains and caked-on dirt along all exposed parts and hoses.
